Right, so the right to protest is a cornerstone of our democracy, it is enshrined in the principles of free speech and assembly, our human rights as these are. However, a video clip going viral today has raised alarming questions about the neutrality of the British state and the abuse of police powers and the extent to which foreign interests—and by that I mean Israel here—are influencing domestic policy and law enforcement, because it literally fell from the mouth of a police officer accosting a protest and it has all been caught on camera. The video footage shared on social media has sparked outrage as you might imagine it would, the protestors were advocating for Palestine, Congo, and Sudan, yet the officers reaction to that, well, it needs to be seen to be believed, so take a look at this.

Right, so that was our police openly confessing to pro Israel leanings, suggesting that the demonstration he was accosting there would be permissible if it were in support of Israel, rather than the given examples by the protesters there of Palestine, Congo and Sudan and given the heavy handed policing of protests and demonstrations that have become hallmarks of the heavy handedness of the Starmer regime, this incident can hardly be classed as an isolated case but part of a broader pattern of selective policing, foreign influence, and the erosion of our democratic freedoms.
Although the video hasn’t caught this, the presumption upon seeing it is that this is another abuse of Section 12 of the Public Order Act to threaten the shutdown of the demonstration. Section 12 grants police the authority to impose conditions on public processions if they believe there is a risk of serious public disorder, damage to property, or disruption to the life of the community. However, the officers’ suggestion that the protest would be acceptable if it were in support of Israel reveals the bias and the abuse that comes hand in hand with it, though you wonder if that bias is on the part of the officer, or the orders which he’s following.

Selective enforcement of Section 12 has become part of a broader trend in the UK, where protests, especially those advocating for Palestinian rights are disproportionately targeted for a more hardline approach, while pro-Israel demonstrations are allowed to proceed without similar scrutiny, even warranting police protection, so its not like public opinion on these matters is not abundantly clear to those in charge, they just don’t care and seek to crush dissent it seems, no matter how peaceful that dissent might be. But actions such as these do nothing except undermine the principle of equality before the law and suggest that the British state is prioritizing the interests of Israel over the rights of its own citizens to freedom of expression and assembly.
The abuse of Section 12 is not merely a technical violation of the law; it is a direct attack on the democratic right to protest and we’ve just seen it happening on film there haven’t we?

Right, so in this age of artificial intelligence that we now find ourselves in, where digital tools can create simulations of imagined realities, none have been so bizarre, not to mention gut-wrenchingly disgusting as the recent AI-generated video depicting the copper-toned cretin that passes for US President, Donald Trump’s vision for Gaza, sparking entirely justified outrage and ridicule as that has across the globe. The video, which I’ve covered previously on this channel and which you may have seen elsewhere yourself, portrayed Trump as a saviour figure overseeing a utopian Gaza Strip, transformed into a playground for the wealthy, blatantly disregarded Palestinian lives, removed from the picture entirely, a clear promotion of the ethnic cleansing of people from their own lands.

Well, the thing with AI is two can play at that game and if Trump wanted to make a target of the Palestinians, the thin skinned, baby-handed one has left himself wide open for a hilarious and entirely justified response. The comeback on Trump by a group of Palestinians known as Sahat English has arrived in the form of an AI counter-video, mercilessly mocking Trump and his vision for Gaza, expose the absurdity of his plans and making it abundantly clear that Gaza is for the Gazan people. Not Netanyahu, not Israel and certainly not Trump. And it is well worth watching and sharing so take a look at this.

Right, so the Donald Trump vision for Gaza, which has gone viral, with the overwhelming viewpoint thankfully of most sensible people being one of abject horror and disgust has met it’s match as you’ve just seen there. A thumping rock anthem oversees people bringing themselves together out of the ruins of Gaza as it currently is, picking themselves up, dusting themselves down to rebuild their lives and in a counter to the Trump video, they also offer a vision of the future, but a future where Gaza remains Palestinian and not stolen for Trump’s own ends. Fishing boats, new roads, new buildings, but of course then comes the satire, the mockery and the defiance that Trump and Co have more than invited upon themselves.

Elon Musk, head in his hands, Trump screaming and finally ending with both him and Benjamin Netanyahu sharing a prison cell, It’s cleverly done, it matches exactly the same style as the Trump video but is so much better in so many ways and it really needs to be garnering more attention than it appears to be getting in order to reclaim the narrative here.
Sahat English, Palestine Unfiltered, is a collective of Palestinian artists, activists, and filmmakers who have used their talents and produced an innovative counter-video to the disgusting video published by Trump to challenge those oppressive narratives and amplify Palestinian voices.
