I was struck by a line in the #Psalm in #Mass today: "He shall defend the needy among the people; he shall rescue the poor and crush the oppressor." (Psalm 72:4). This expression of what God's righteousness looks like occurs again and again in the #Bible, not least in the #Magnificat. (Luke 1:46–55).
Yet how often do we see those who claim to be #Christian siding with oppressors, crushing those who need defending and keeping the #poor downtrodden?
We need to do better!
