I have been near-sighted most of my life (cannot see distance 20/20). I wore contacts lenses for 20 years (Multi-focal). I remember my eye doctors telling me that I could only wear contact lenses for 2-3 weeks max or they could #damage my #eyes..
Then one day I #lost my #contacts_lenses - (7) Years Ago.
As the years went by I noticed that even though I could not see distance as clearly as before, my #Peripheral_Vision seemingly increased.. Bionically??
I mean while riding my bike I noticed the slightest movements from the sides of the road.. I could see things clearly out of the corners of my eyes. Even the smallest movement of insects/lizards caught my attention in bushes--that most would not see..
Also my hearing ability increased dramatically.
Another Mystery??

So I decided to go and get an #eye_exam again to check my vision prescription stats.
I remembered them because they #never_changed WHILE WEARING PRESCRIPTION CONTACT LENSES for 20 years.
Below are my before and after Scripts.
My eyes corrected themselves (almost 20/20 Vision) from NOT WEARING PRESCRIPTION CONTACT LENS EYE WEAR (or any eye-wear for that matter) FOR 7 YEARS.

However, the sheer quantity of engineers involved highlighted another issue noted by Zemlin: the "paradox of choice" when selecting the correct open source project for a given purpose when the number on offer reaches the hundreds, thousands, and beyond.
Reflecting the increasing maturity of some elements of the open source world, he also emphasized the opportunities for companies to increase revenues and profits through the use of open source.
