A scary incident occurred on a United Airlines flight that took off from Maui in December. The Boeing 777 experienced a steep nose dive and plunged from 2,200 feet to 775 feet over the Pacific Ocean, before recovering and continuing its path to San Francisco. Flight UA1722 descended as fast as 8,600 feet per minute and was flying during a storm with heavy rain. A passenger on the flight shared his experience, saying some passengers screamed during the incident
