When a person or company contacts an employer to complain about an employee, then they are in effect proactively trying to get that individual fired. He claimed to Comcast customer service that their #billing_practices were, at the very least, #unethical, and Comcast #retaliated by trying to have the man #fired. That right there #implies that Comcast #knows that their billing practices are #unethical, if not #criminal.
