Yasemin Acar, a human rights activist from Germany onboard the Freedom Flotilla Coalition's ship, Madleen, en route to Gaza, said they’ve been subjected to “psychological warfare” by drones “manufactured in Israel and operated by Greek authorities”. In a video Acar posted to her social media account from the Madleen vessel, she said, “not to our surprise, politically, Greece has aligned itself with Israel.” “When we set sail, we are not only confronting Israel's bureaucratic and military tactics, we are facing the might of its allies. They are not here to protect us. They are here to intimidate us, to wear us down, to break our spirit. But as you can see, we are still here, we're not stopping, we are not turning back,” she said. The ship is carrying aid and a 12-person crew, including human rights activists and one reporter, protesting Israel’s blockade of Gaza. Another Freedom Flotilla vessel, the Conscience, failed to continue its voyage in early May after being hit by two drones just outside Maltese waters.

Good Samaritan laws take their name from a parable found in the Bible, attributed to Jesus, commonly referred to as the Parable of the Good Samaritan which is contained in Luke 10:29–37. It recounts the aid given by a traveller from the area known as Samaria to another traveller of a conflicting religious and ethnic background who had been beaten and robbed by bandits.[4]
