Thanks to everyone who read my articles and voted for me!
This year I've been nominated for three categories on the #Hackernoon noonies award (contributor of the year for distributed systems, git and proof-of-stake), and I won the prize for two of them! 🏆
- Distributed systems: https://www.noonies.tech/2022/emerging-tech/2022-hackernoon-contributor-of-the-year-distributed-systems
- Proof-of-stake: https://www.noonies.tech/2022/web3/2022-hackernoon-contributor-of-the-year-proof-of-stake
Since the awards are sponsored by .tech domains, it looks like the costs for my platypush.tech domain will be covered for at least 5 more years to come - yay!
The distributed system award really matters a lot to me, being one of my primary fields or research. This is a badge I'll be proud to show.
The proof-of-stake award is a little bit funny. I only wrote one article on proof-of-stake - explaining how it's much less likely to burn down the planet than proof-of-work, but how it will also inevitably end up being an even more elitist way of establishing who can add new transactions (so much for the idea of a decentralized network with low entry barriers: those who can afford to pay the initial stake will basically become the new banking system), detailing how the whole idea of Web 3 is a techbro scam, and how NFTs are one of the most unsafe and ridiculous way of spending your money.
As a result, I won a Web 3 award and they are generating and NFT for me 😁
