One of the big problems is that when you criticize the system as it exists people will reflexively defend it as they would like it to be. Personally, I think actually free markets and real property rights are good things. That said, there's neither of those have any real resemblance to the current system as it is.
It does seem like using the word capitalism to describe it all is an uphill battle. Many will want to call it "crony capitalism" or "corporate fascism". I'm not attached to particular labels, but with more and more consolidation and corruption being built on top there needs to be a term that people will immediately connect to their real-life experience.
In general I think it helps to be specific. Instead of saying "government is evil" specify what specific mechanisms are the problem, and instead of saying "capitalism requires growth" specify that "our debt-backed economy has already sold future growth.
