Tactics have been updated to deal with NATO tactics.
Most importantly, drone warfare has been developed from non-existent to highly effective. Drone warfare is now a critical part of the modern battlfield.
Drone training has been developed and advanced in Russia so that drone soldiers can not only fly and destroy, technical training enables them to repair their drones and make modifications as the technology evolves.
None of this would have happened without NATO.
