🎵 The Alan Parsons Project — “I Wouldn’t Want to Be Like You”
Released in 1977 on the album I Robot, this one gave The Alan Parsons Project one of their first big U.S. hits. That bass line, the funky groove, the guitar — it has exactly the kind of sound that makes you turn it up when it comes on in the car.
And The Alan Parsons Project wasn’t your typical band. Alan Parsons had already worked behind the scenes as an engineer on legendary albums including #Pink_Floyd’s The #Dark_Side of the #Moon and The Beatles’ #Abbey_Road before teaming up with songwriter and musician Eric Woolfson. Together they created The Alan Parsons Project — known for concept albums, incredible production and a rotating cast of musicians and vocalists.
Fun fact: #Alan_Parsons himself wasn’t the lead singer on this one. Lenny Zakatek handled the vocals on
“I Wouldn’t Want to Be Like You”
and would become one of the voices most associated with the Project.
And just like that, crew, we’ve reached our final day of the letter A. ❤️🚗
We have ONE more A coming tonight — and I saved the perfect road-trip song to close it out.
Then tomorrow…
WE HIT B. 👀🎶
Start dropping those B bands and songs because this car is not stopping.

WE REJECT ANTISEMITISM. This conversation contains characterizations of Jewish influence over media, finance and elected officials that echo longstanding antisemitic conspiracy tropes. This channel rejects those tropes unreservedly. Criticism of the policies of any government — including Israel's — is legitimate; attributing disproportionate or hidden collective power to Jewish people is not, and is not a view we share or endorse.
